Things I brought with me to Australia:

Sewing machine - check
Serger - check
Fabric - check, check, check
Patterns - check
Thread, elastic, other notions - check
Scissors, cutting board, other tools - check

So why don't I get more sewing done? I've joined Pattern Review's "One Garment a Month Sewalong" to help me stay on course. For January, I started with the easiest project, a pair of pajamas, for a "quick win."






The fabric was originally purchased to make some table skirts -- so please don't confuse me with curtains!

I used the smallest print for the pants and a larger print for the top, then but a border on the pants with the top material. I then used a satin stitch to make it look more like a design feature.

 

They are cool and comfortable, and I met my January goal. On to February, which is here already.
