I have discovered I'm pretty good at getting out and about in a new town.
One of my new Australian friends is author, historian, and long-time Central Australia resident (here since coming to the area in the 1950's from England as a governess type) Jose Petrick. She recently arranged for us to go see a very special place that normally only indigenous people can visit as it is a sacred area. We also took friends of ours who have been in Alice for about twenty years and are very well connected, and they had never even heard of the place.
It was one of the most gorgeous places I've seen yet. And I seem to say that about everything! I had a lot of fun with my cameras. This shot was a closeup of a small section of the springs.
